Special requirements
Some Healthcare buildings are similar to Residential. And some are a specialized class of structure, with their own highly technical mechanical requirements. Some special items are medical gases, high ventialtion rate operating rooms, treated exhaust for contamination rooms, and other specail plumbing requirements.
Long term
Healthcare facilities seem to be characterized by owners that have long term or fiscal responsibility to investors, public or shareholders. The systems can be better quality and offer pay backs over the longer term. Energy studies, “green” ideas and better quality equipment are offten considered by owners of healthcare facilities.
